Striker Colin McMenamin will go under the knife to ensure he’s fit and ready to partner new signing Mickael Antoine-Curier when the new campaign kicks off. McMenamin will have an operation, in the next couple of weeks, to put right a groin injury which hampered him towards the end of the season.
The striker, who’s contracted at Dens until 2009, managed to score six goals in eleven games, after joining Dundee from Gretna, despite the injury

Dundee unveiled their new home strip and a new shirt sponsorship with BUKTA and everyone at the Club was delighted that they had a returning fans' favourite at Dens to model the new kit - for Mickael Antoine-Curier today committed his future to Dundee. The Frenchman told us “I’m delighted” when we spoke to him after he had penned a
three year deal to keep him at Dens.
The striker, who fired home nine
goals in eleven appearances during his loan spell at Dens told us what
had persuaded him to sign a permanent deal with the Dark Blues “Everything about the club really”
he said “The fans, the people around the club, the atmosphere in
the changing room – it’s a good feeling to be at a good club who
deserve to be in the SPL.”

Former Dundee player Derek Mackay died on Sunday whilst on holiday in Thailand. It’s believed that he suffered a heart attack, he was 59.
Derek played just two first team games for the Dark Blues, a 4-0 win over Kilmarnock and a 3-2 win over Rangers – both in season 1968-69.
After leaving Dens he went on to gain cult status amongst Aberdeen fans by scoring winning goals in the 1970 Scottish Cup quarter and semi finals and then hitting the net twice as the Dons beat Celtic 3-1 to win the cup.

The meaningful end of Dundee’s season came with a whimper rather than a bang as they went down 1-0 to a Brian Gilmour goal to Scottish Cup Finalists Queen of the South at Palmerston.
His goal came three minutes from half time by which time Hamilton had more or less sealed promotion – they led Clyde 2-0 at New Douglas Park.
Dundee rarely threatened to score and there was little for 566 strong travelling support to cheer, not that they kept quiet, the team getting the same sort of vocal backing that has been a feature of a campaign where Dundee have challenged but not quite managed to reward that support.

Dundee in January 2007 from Rangers, Bob made just two first team
appearances for the Glasgow side but has been used much more often
since arriving at Dens, he was a regular in the first half of the season
and started the campaign in fine scoring form, he had a loan spell at
Boston United before joining Dundee. He's missed the last three

Scott Robertson returned from six weeks out with a torn calf muscle to round off the scoring as Dundee eased past Stirling Albion 3-0 at Dens to keep their season alive, and the good news is that the midfielder looked fit and eager and looks like he’ll be available for the final two games of the season. Hamilton’s win at Livingston though means that Dundee need former Dee John Brown’s Clyde side to do them a favour at New Douglas Park next weekend, a win for the Accies will render the final match of the season at Dens between the top two meaningless.

MATCH REPORT Dundee’s promotion chances took a big blow when they lost to a late Mark Roberts goal at Firhill. Home side Partick Thistle had performed well in the second half after being battered by a positive Dundee side in the opening forty five minutes, and the catalyst for their comeback was the introduction of winger Stevie Murray at the interval – he gave Dundee’s defence a torrid time and Partick created the bulk of chances in the second half.
The best chance though fell to Dundee and to the normally deadly feet of Mickael Antoine-Curier, he made space in the box drew the keeper and curled his shot round him, the large travelling support rose to acclaim the strike only for their cheers to die in their throats as the effort slipped just wide.
It was a miss that would be punished late on with both sides chasing a winner as Roberts played a neat one-two and slotted home with just two minutes to go to earn the home side the points.

While nothing was found to be broken boss Alex Rae confirmed that Bob could “be out for a while.”

Following repeated incidents involving a minority of fans at Dundee FC away games this season, a meeting was held on Thursday evening between officials from the Dundee Supporters Association and management of Dundee Football Club.
Both sides condemned this behaviour and issued an appeal to all Dundee FC supporters to get behind the team in the crucial matches coming up over the next few weeks. It was agreed that both organisations would adopt a “zero tolerance” policy towards any future incidents of unacceptable behaviour.
Meetings will also be held over the next few weeks with individual Club Secretary’s and bus organisers. Dundee FC also confirmed that the individual who ran on to the pitch at Saturday’s cup tie with Queen of the South and was dealt with by the courts on Monday has been banned from Dens Park for a period of 2 years.

It’s hard to exaggerate the impact that Mickael Antoine Curier has had on the form of the side since arriving at Dens, two goals against Livingston on Tuesday evening took him to eight goals in five games, with assistant manager Dave Farrell saying of the Frenchman’s first strike “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ball struck harder” while Alex Rae described it simply as “Phenomenal”. That’s a fitting way to sum it up as the striker has just picked up the IRN BRU Scottish Football League Phenomenal Player of the Month for February.

Dundee 2 Livingston 0
Mickael Antoine-Curier continued his sensational start to his Dens Park stay with a brace of goals to see off Livingston at Dens, and edge Dundee within three points of Hamilton ahead of Saturday’s top of the table clash. Those goals took Antoine-Curier’s tally in Dark Blue to eight goals in five matches.
Mike fired his first in 48 minutes running onto a Colin McMenamin through ball and lashing an eighteen yard rising shot home, visiting keeper Colin Stewart got a full hand to the ball but the power beat him.
Antoine-Curier’s second came twelve minutes later, by which time Livingston had been reduced to ten men, debut boy Murray Davidson being dismissed after a second bookable offence on 50 minutes. Mike’s goal came from a free kick just outside the box, awarded after David O’Brien had been brought down, Antoine-Curier placing his shot into the bottom corner via the inside of the post.

Dundee were dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Queen of the South. Goals from Stephen Dobbie and Ryan McCann gave the Dumfries side a 2-0 victory.
Queen’s opener came seven minutes
after half time when a ball over the top found Dobbie racing in on
goal, his first touch killed the ball perfectly and his second
dispatched his shot past Samson. Minutes earlier Jan Zemlik had
wasted Dundee’s one really good opportunity of the match, Jamie
McDonald spilling a Paul Dixon cross at the feet of the striker, but
the home keeper made up for his mistake by blocking the Czech’s
close range effort.
The clincher came late and was quite
extraordinary, Keeper Samson was in the Queens’ penalty area as
Eddie Malone fired in a last minute free kick, the ball ricocheted
around the box before falling for home right back Ryan McCann just
outside the area, he hammered the ball forward and amazingly found
the net from near 80 yards.
It made sure of a win that the
Doonhamers deserved, Dundee worked hard but lacked inspiration, while
the home side dominated the first half and created the better
opportunities of the second period.

Mickeal Antoine-Curier scored from the penalty spot to equalise for Dundee at Livingston but was dismayed (picture) after his second half effort which also found the net was disallowed. The Dark Blues put in plenty of effort but again lacked inspiration and they fell behind in the 26th minutes when Robert Snodgrass found plenty of space to net with a header.
The Dark Blues drew level a minute before the end of the first period when former Livi man Colin McMenamin was felled in the box by home captain James McPake, referee Scott MacDonald pointing to the spot and Antoine-Curier slotted home the spot kick.

On a day when Dundee finally looked like they had an answer to there striking problems a horrendous seven minute spell cost them dearly. New boy Colin McMenamin certainly looked the part, two goals, a shot that came off the bar and a menace to the visiting defence. Approaching the hour mark Dundee were one up and looking likely to add to it.
But in 57 minutes disaster struck as Craig Samson fired a clearance off Queen of the South striker Sean OConnor and watched in horror as it rebounded into the net. That started a short but sweet spell for the Dumfries side which would win them the game. OConnor added a second and Paul Burns a third as Dundees defence fell apart. Just after the third McMenamin clipped a shot onto the face of the bar and in the final moments he netted from inches out - but this week the late goal counted for nothing.
